This is the panel for you! Hear from a variety of industry professionals as they describe their career journey and answer your questions.

Featuring:

Carrie Hawes, M.Ed., has spent her career at the intersection of career development and management through her various roles in higher education. A self proclaimed “nerd” about hiring trends and developing employees to make an impact, she considers herself a connector of talent and resources. In 2022 she joined the “Great Reshuffle” and moved to corporate learning and development. She holds a B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from James Madison University, and a M.Ed in Higher Education Administration from NC State University.

Sallie Ly is an instructional designer and project manager in the Washington, D.C. metro area with a wealth of experience and knowledge in adult learning & development and international education. She is an organized project manager and a creative curriculum content designer with over ten years of experience in international education and professional development.

Using her experience living and working abroad, she enjoys creating training and developing instruction for adult learners from diverse backgrounds. She is currently a government contractor for the Department of Justice, creating onboarding and professional development for information technology specialists. Sallie is a self-starter who enjoys working with professionals that share an enthusiasm for innovation, education, and technology. Her professional and research interests include cross-cultural communication, adult training in information technology, and virtual instructional design tools. Sallie is fluent in English and Korean and enjoys cooking spicy food and gardening in her spare time.

Hiba Ismeail, M. Ed. is an award-winning learning leader with over 10 years of experience. She is passionate about making a positive impact via engaging learning experiences. Hiba currently serves as the Director of Curriculum Development and Instructional Design at Fairfax University of America (FXUA). Prior to joining FXUA, she supported a wide range of international development, nonprofit, corporate, defense, and federal learning environments. Hiba hold a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) credential from the ATD Certification Institute. She also holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Instructional Design and Technology, as well as an e-Learning Graduate Certificate, from George Mason University.

Judith Bartels-Brezac, MS, CPTM, PMP, is a learning & development professional with 20 years of experience developing talent development solutions in a variety industries. She has earned her PMP® license along with certifications from the Phillips ROI Institute, the Kirkpatrick Four Levels of Evaluation program, the LUMA Design Thinking Institute and Training Industries' Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM™). She has served in a variety of roles including a people manager, storyboard and content designer, eLearning developer, project manager and facilitator. She is an active member of the local chapter of the Association of Talent Development for the last four years, currently serving on the board in my second of three years as President. Her introduction to board volunteerism was as the Director of the Communities of Practice (CoP), managing four active CoPs and the nine corresponding CoP leaders.
