Join us for our first wellbeing@work CoP meeting! Meet industry leaders and learn more about current trends, the impact of COVID, and how to support employee wellbeing through the challenges that we’ve all been experiencing in recent years. . In addition to hearing from experts, there will be time for discussion and Q&A to hear from the broad range of attendees regarding current challenges and what areas you’d like to learn more about.

Presenters: Heather D. Horton and Catherine W. Corey

Heather D. Horton, Esq., ACC, Principal/Founder of The H-Squared Group, LLC, is a listening heart with ears for busy professionals struggling with grief, identity, and belonging. She empowers them to stop masking their feelings and ignoring their emotions so they can turn that pain into powerful productivity and reset their identity through grief education, coaching, and recovery support. Heather also supports organizations in creating grief-informed inclusive workplace cultures.

Heather is a Tax Attorney, Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist, and Certified Grief and Professional Diversity Coach. She is also the host of the Grief Unplugged Podcast. Heather is an alumnus of Southern University (B.S., Accounting), LSU Law Center (J.D., BCL), and Georgetown University Law Center (LLM, Taxation).

Heather enjoys supporting the arts, basking in nature, spa retreats, and being "Tee Heat" to her two nephews. She completed her first sprint triathlon in September 2022 at age 50.

Catherine W. Corey, MPA, SPHR, ACC, CAE, Chief Goodness Officer, Good for the Soul Consulting has more than 20 years of leadership experience across industries, Catherine (she/her/hers) has a unique perspective on how to get the best out of people. She helps organizations cultivate talent and get results through coaching, facilitation, training and HR/OD leadership. Her specialties include employee engagement, values-centered work, and mental health and wellness. She works with advocacy and service-based nonprofits, government agencies, and private sector corporations, as well as C-suite and emerging leaders. The common thread in Catherine’s work is ensuring safe spaces for uncomfortable and necessary conversations, because from a place of genuine psychological safety, people can accomplish extraordinary things together.

Catherine is a lifelong learner, having earned not only SPHR, ACC and CAE credentials, but also an executive certificate in Leadership Coaching and Master of Public Administration. She is currently pursuing a PhD in clinical psychology, with a primary research interest in moral injury. Catherine also believes in active community involvement and has volunteered on a suicide prevention hotline for more than a dozen years. She and her husband split their time between the DC and Seattle areas.
