2024 Mentoring Program Overview
Why the Program is So Important.
Mentoring Programs can provide both Mentor and Mentee with invaluable support, professional guidance and personal awareness as they navigate the development of their career. Specifically, Mentoring partnerships are built upon a foundation of trust, mutual respect and create a true sense of sharing valuable lessons learned, wisdom and knowledge. A successful partnership begins by openly discussing and establishing specific goals and expectations based on a shared interest in personal and professional growth. An additional benefit to those who participate in The ATD Metro DC Mentoring Partnership Program, an opportunity to expand your professional network beyond your mentor partner to a community of learning professionals who are going through the program with you.
The Program and Its Benefits.
The Program requires a ten-month commitment from all involved. As a participant in the program, you will have an opportunity to develop a greater sense of self-awareness, experience one-on-one and group sharing of knowledge/expertise in monthly meetings, attend webinars, and complete individual/group assignments and activities.
The Program’s content, exercises and activities are based upon ATD’s Talent Development Capability Model which is a career blueprint for talent development professionals. These are the 23 capabilities that a learning and development professional should have to be successful. The capabilities are organized in three domains: Building Personal Capability, Developing Professional Capability, and Impacting Organizational Capability. As you can see, the capability model covers a lot of ground and given our program’s ten-month timeline, it will be impossible to focus on every talent and development area highlighted in the model.
Cancellation Policy: If the registrant cancels before 11:59 pm February 29th, the Chapter will refund full registration fees.
If the program is canceled by the Chapter, the Chapter will notify registrants and refund full registration fees.
