How do you encourage learning within an organization? This is the question that is pondered in most organizations. This webinar discusses this topic from an employee buy-in perspective. Panelists
Lori Ann Roth, Ph.D., CPLP, is the Director of Learning and Professional Development for the Human Resources & Payroll department at George Mason University. Her responsibilities include managing a talented staff and providing training and facilitation for University faculty and staff.
Dr. Roth has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Communication and a Masters degree in Adult Education from Michigan State University. She earned a doctorate from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Human Development. The emphasis of her study consisted of adult learning and human resources management. She has worked for human resources departments, training corporations, hi-tech corporations, as an adjunct professor at University of Maryland University College and George Mason University’s School of Management. She was the president and owner of LARG Enterprises, Inc. (a training corporation) and specialized in Microsoft Certified Systems Engineering and Train the Trainer classes.
Lori is certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, EQ-i (Emotional Intelligence), The 8 Dimensions of Leadership, DiSC, and Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. She is a certified Retirement Coach and a skilled facilitator.
She is very active in the Association for Talent Development (ATD formerly ASTD) at the national and local levels. Dr. Roth volunteers to improve and assist with the Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (CPLP) certification for ASTD. Lori has presented at the ATD/ASTD International Conference and Exposition for the last four years on a variety of professional development topics.
Her hobbies include cooking, weight lifting, hiking, reading and beaching.
Michelle Burke, CPLP, SPHR is Senior Director of Learning & Development and Communications at KeHE Distributors, a specialty, natural, organic and fresh foods distributor. In this role, Burke is building the learning function from the ground up.
Burke has more than 18 years of experience in consulting, learning, performance improvement, and talent management within various industries including consulting, financial services, hospitality, retail, and distribution.
She is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences including Chicagoland Learning Leaders Conference, SE-Wisconsin Learning Leaders Conference, ASTD’s international conference, the Masie Center’s Learning Conference, and local chapter conferences.
Burke holds her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education and a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum & Instruction.
