Involvement in a mentoring relationship is a “win-win” situation for an organization and an individual. In this session, you’ll get a chance to discuss the rewards of a mentoring program and to exchange ideas and applications. From there, you’ll get an expert overview of a variety of mentoring programs from the traditional to group mentoring.
In particular, you’ll learn about a unique, contemporary mentoring strategy that provides a two-way, mutually beneficial learning experience. Annabelle and Sylvia will share details on the components and operations of the model that they created. This model can help your organization retain and expand working relationships among the generations for supporting career growth, reinforce talent engagement, and identify future leaders. You’ll even have the chance to participate in their unique self-matching process.
Plus, you’ll learn about the “Mentoring Quest” networking activity for people who wish to be involved in a mentoring activity but do not have access to a formal structured program.
Annabelle Reitman, co-author of Creating a Mentoring Program: Mentoring Partnerships Across the Generations (ASTD Press, 2014), and Career Moves: Be Strategic About Your Future (ASTD Press 2013), has more than 40 years of experience in career coaching and counseling. She specializes in short-term coaching for people in work transitions, enabling them to successfully continue their career journey as well as résumé development that targets clients’ individualized professional stories. Reitman is an established writer and author in the career and talent management arenas, including writing posts for three ATD blogs. She is a past president and co-president of the ASTD Metro DC Chapter and past president of the Association of Career Professionals International (ACPI) DC Chapter. Reitman received her Ed.D in Higher Education Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University.
Sylvia Ramirez Benatti, co-author of Creating a Mentoring Program: Mentoring Partnerships Across the Generations (ASTD Press, 2014), brings more than twenty years experience in the nonprofit sector as a trainer/consultant and university professor in nonprofit management. She co-developed and successfully delivered the Mentoring Partnership Model as a program for the ASTD DC Metro Chapter. Ms Benatti is certified as a Standards of Excellence consultant and in Quality Matters Online Teaching. As the Director of Training for the Support Center of Washington, DC she planned, scheduled, published, and managed a full time public training program with an average of 60 workshops per quarter. She holds a doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership in Nonprofits from Nova Southeastern University, and a master’s degree in Training & Professional Development from Mount Vernon College, an affiliate school of the George Washington University.

Cancellation Policy
Metro DC ASTD will refund your registration fee when cancelled by the end of the "Early Bird" registration window. Cancellations after this time will not be refunded.
