The Successful Virtual Classroom: 5 Keys to Success

Distractions in the traditional classroom abound and keeping learners focused and engaged is a challenge. However, in a live virtual classroom environment (sometimes referred to as a webinar or synchronous learning), distractions multiply at the quantum level. Join this session to learn five things you can do to become a better live virtual classroom facilitator and presenter. Participants will leave the session with practical ideas they can implement for their own virtual classroom programs including:

  1. How to adapt in person facilitation techniques for use in a virtual classroom setting
  2. Techniques to make up for the absence of body language to keep participants engaged
  3. Strategies to adjust content, images, and exercises for a live virtual audience

Darlene Christopher, CPLP, has designed and delivered virtual training programs for global audiences for ten years and has authored a book, The Successful Virtual Classroom, on the subject. She is a Knowledge & Learning Officer at the World Bank in Washington D.C.
