As we continue to envision the future of leadership, the Leadership Development CoP takes to the movie theatres to explore the complexities of multigenerational leadership. In the new movie, The Intern, Robert DeNiro and Anne Hathaway portray a situation that is becoming more and more common: the Boomer employee working for a Millennial boss. Their unique challenges raise interesting questions about how different generations approach leadership: What are the differences and similarities among leaders from different generations? How do leaders from each generation shape both private and public organizations? What are the unique challenges for leaders in the multigenerational workforce? What are the different developmental needs for leaders of various generations?
In this 2-part event, we’ll meet on Thursday, October 8 at 6 p.m. at the Mosaic Theatre to watch the movie. Then we’ll convene at C2 Technologies, Inc. on Thursday, October 22 for a facilitated discussion on the movie and what it says about the unique challenges of multigenerational leadership and the future of leadership development. If you are unable to attend the movie viewing on October 8, you can find a time to see the movie on your own or with another CoP buddy before the October 22 meeting. For those unable to attend the October 22 discussion in person, we will provide a GotoMeeting option for virtual participation.

Bob Richard has 20+ years’ experience in Organization Development consulting, training, program management and project design. He has held senior OD management and business development roles in small, medium and Fortune 500 companies in the USA and UK. In 2014 he established his own professional practice in the DC metro area, focusing on Resilience Skills projects for Federal and local government as well as across the healthcare and education sectors.

Neal Henderson, founder and President of FrontRow Performance Coaching, is an experienced Organizational Development Consultant and Coach based in Northern Virginia. He has spent over 30 years creating successful organizations that are grounded in organizational and leadership development practices.
A former Navy Master Chief Petty Officer, his extensive public and private sector experience ranges from developing leaders and managers, leading complex change efforts and increasing human performance. He possesses expertise in Management and Leadership Coaching and Development for individuals and teams, career management/development, and group facilitation.
