Bombings in Beirut and Baghdad, terrorism in Paris, unrest and violence throughout the Middle East. Where are the leaders who will guide us through this mess? Some of them are in high school right now and through a program called Global Ambassadors, they are bringing the world’s youth together to foster peace and understanding through exchanges, dialogue, and education.

Continuing the theme of multigenerational leadership development, the December LD CoP offers the opportunity for dialogue with today’s youth about their views on leadership.

Enjoy an evening of international food and entertainment as Park View High School’s Global Ambassadors tell us about Loudoun County’s annual international youth leadership summit, which brings together young people from all over the world. Their goal is to engage with their peers in conversations regarding the most pressing issues facing the world and to devise plans to address these issues in their own communities. Learn how your definitions of leadership compare to theirs. Engage in a robust discussion about their unique perspectives on leadership in the global community.

In this session, you’ll come away with insights about tomorrow’s leaders, while celebrating the holiday season and supporting young people who are making a difference in the world today. To help raise money for Global Ambassadors, we are asking for a suggested $10 donation, payable at the door. You can also contribute by purchasing raffle tickets to win fabulous prizes.

The Global Ambassadors is a club at local high schools whose mission is to foster positive relations with youth in other countries. Since 2012, they have organized and hosted the Loudoun International Youth Leadership Summit, which brings together young people from around the world to consider and discuss the key issues of the day.

The Global Ambassadors will be providing a buffet of international foods.

Although the address is Gallows Rd., the entrance to the building is actually on Boone Blvd. If you've just turned off of Rt. 7 onto Gallows Rd, with Olive Garden on your right, take the next left onto Boone Blvd., then turn right into the first driveway. 1921 is the building straight in front of you. Parking is over to the right, and it is free.

The building locks sometime after 6 p.m., so if you are not able to get in, call or text Claudia at 703.217.3517.

Closest Metro Stop: Tysons Corner (Silver Line): You can walk through Tysons Corner mall to Route 7, cross the street, and walk to 1921 Gallows Rd (which is actually on Boone Blvd). Probably about a half-mile walk.

In addition, there’s a shuttle bus that leaves the McLean Metro at approximately 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. and arrives at Tysons International Plaza (1921 Gallows Rd) about 20 minutes later. We can coordinate rides back to the Metro after the meeting.
