Beyond Training: Taking a Strategic Approach to Talent Management

As a talent development professional, how do you prepare your workforce for an increasingly complex environment? Employees are frequently being asked to do more with less and collaborate across silos, but they're not always clear how to do that.

In this session, you will learn about some of the innovative and low-cost ways the federal government is fostering cross-agency collaboration and knowledge-sharing through the White House Leadership Development Program. You'll also have the opportunity to engage in small-group discussions with your colleagues to share ideas, challenges, and resources. Key questions we'll address include:

  • How do you prepare employees for a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, chaotic, ambiguous) environment?
  • Why is taking an enterprise-level approach important, and how will it help you in developing employees?
  • What are some ways to help employees work more collaboratively and across silos?
  • What are examples of social learning approaches that can help you in getting people up to speed without formal training?
  • What are the opportunities and potential drawbacks of low-cost approaches to talent development?
  • How do you show the value of talent development efforts so that stakeholders will support them?
Join us for an informative and interactive session based on the Integrated Talent Management competency of the ATD Competency Model.
