Everything you wanted to know about Agile but were afraid to ask! Can it be used for instructional design? What is all that weird jargon? Does it really work?!! In the first of a three-part webinar series, you will learn that agile instruction systems design, or Agile ISD, is not only possible but has been proven successful for managing a large government curriculum. You will learn a little bit about Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and other frameworks, and how these were used to develop a two-week course on program management in six months with a team of three. You will get resources on how to get started yourselves with this exciting new way to accomplish your instructional design work. Finally, you will have the opportunity to ask questions of an experienced practitioner.
Ms. Lisa Cooney
is an Instructional Systems Designer and ScrumMaster for Addx Corporation and supports program and project management training at a Federal agency. Ms. Cooney is certified by the Scrum Alliance as a ScrumMaster, by the Project Management Institute as an Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), and by the International Consortium for Agile as an Agile team facilitator (ICP-ATF). She designed and wrote a two-week instructor-led course for senior program managers, incorporating systems thinking. She designed and wrote two virtual instructor-led courses called Agile for the Federal Government and Agile for the Product Owner for the Department of Veterans Affairs in 2014. Ms. Cooney earned her Master’s degree in Instructional Design from the University of Virginia and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Wellesley College.
This is the first in a series of three evening webcasts on the topic of Agile ISD. The second webcast is November 2, 2016 at 6:30PM and the third is tentatively set for December 14, 2017 at 6:30PM.. In preparation for the first webcast there will be three micro-learning webcasts that will be emailed to all of our members and constituents.
