At the CPLP Panel Discussion CPLP certified talent development professional will share insights and answer questions about their respective journeys to achieving CPLP status.

Panelists:   

Christina Holloway, MS, CPLP

Christina Holloway has over 10 years of experience as a learning and development professional. She started her career as a talent development specialist through coaching undergraduate students and soldiers in the U.S. Army Reserve about career planning and management. Once she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in organizational communications and Spanish from Bloomsburg University in 2005, Holloway went on to become a technical trainer for the gaming industry; working internationally in the Latin America market. Although Holloway had successfully managed to marry her love for training and development and use her foreign language skills, she decided to enroll in Towson University to complete a Masters of Science in instructional technology in 2009. Holloway made a pivot and focused her skill set on developing and managing the production of eLearning and blended courses.  In 2012, Holloway successfully completed her year-long journey of preparing and completing the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) certification.

Holloway is passionate about marrying learning and development with cutting edge technology and currently holds research interests in the impact of virtual reality and augmented reality on learning efficacy. When she isn't reading articles related to the science of learning or benchmarking instructional design best practices, Holloway is busy planning fun events for her family to participate in, pawning off her latest crafts or trying her hand at over-salting some new recipe in the kitchen 

Foster Rockwell, CPLP

Foster Rockwell helps organizations improve their career development programs via learning and other professional development initiatives. He is a talent development professional with over 20 years of experience creating and directing organizational training and development functions. He also has experience leading change initiatives including optimization of training functions and LMS/CMS system implementations. Currently, Foster serve as the Director, Learning & Development at Evidera, a biopharmaceutical research and data analysis company. He earned the CPLP designation in 2014.

Carolyn White, CPLP   

Carolyn White is the Manager of Employee Development at the WSSC. She is a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP).   She has over twenty-eight years of experience in the employee development and training arena. She has a wealth of human resources experience including roles as a HR manager and Staff Director with the District of Columbia and federal government.  Carolyn was formerly the Corporate Training and Development Manager with Renegade Productions located in Hunt Valley, MD. At Renegade, Carolyn helped produce advertising and training videos for local and national clients as well recorded voice-overs and commercials. She has designed and delivered customer service, sales, communication skills, coaching and leadership training for a wide variety of customer-focused industries and in a variety of formats. In Chicago, she was a consultant at the Department of Labor.  She also has experience as a teacher in Massachusetts and Maryland.  Carolyn received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Psychology from Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts and has attended graduate school at The John Hopkins University. Carolyn’s dynamic presentation style and ability to connect with her learners consistently earn her high praise from clients across 46 states.  Some of her clients included Time Warner, Comcast, the NAACP, the Regal Riverfront Hotel, Avaya Technologies and Verizon.

Carolyn, mother of three children, is a native Washingtonian who now resides in Columbia, MD with her husband.

Lana Rajkumar, CPLP 

Lana Rajkumar is a Program Manager in the Enterprise Project Management Office at Fannie Mae.  Prior to joining Fannie Mae, she consulted on learning and development engagements at the U.S. Department of State, was a regional trainer for a major national bank and served as a Teach For America corps member.

Lana is particularly interested in knowledge management, organizational change management, distance learning and emerging learning technologies.

Lana holds bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Spanish from Vanderbilt University and very recently earned the ATD Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) certification.

Moderator:  Connie Russell-Gorum

An Uprising Voice of Workforce Training & Development, Connie Russell-Gorum is the founder and CEO of C.L. Russell Group, LLC – a workforce learning and development consulting company.  Connie established her training consulting company as a veteran owned small business and within her first year she was awarded the Women in Business Champion of the Year, successfully landed a contract with one of the largest water and wastewater utilities in the nation and was recognized for the Library of Congress Veteran History Project.

Connie Gorum serves as a judge for the Chief Learning Officer (CLO) LearningElite program that honors the best organizations worldwide for learning and development, a member of the Workforce Magazine Business Intelligence Board. Among other associations, she also serves as a board member of the Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber where she is the Chair for the Women in Business Committee.  As an upcoming leading female entrepreneur and a strategic small business influencer, she is on a mission to create a future ready workforce.
