Celebrating Multiculturalism - One Morsel at a Time

Please join us for a unique two-part event on inter-cultural understanding sponsored by four local organizations, ISPI Potomac, NOVASHRM, SIETAR DC, and the ASTD DC Metro Diversity SIG!

In the first session, a panel will share their perspectives on frameworks (provided through the field of cultural anthropology) that are commonly used to acquire broad understandings of some basic differences and similarities between cultures: Views on time; self-determination; individual identity; ethics, etc.  The discussion will then look at a relatively new intercultural dimension being examined:  indulgence vs. restraint.

This introductory discussion will be held on May 17th from 6:30-8:30 p.m., and hosted at GW University, 800 21st St NW, Room 301 at the GWU Marvin Center.

The follow-up session will be held in June (date TBA), and will be a a festive extravaganza celebrating a range of cultures through food, music, and video!  Participants will be invited to share personal perspectives on their own ethnic backgrounds through the food that is common to their cultures.

Participants must attend the first session in order to attend the second.

Please send rsvp's or questions to Veronica Adams at adams@ridingthewave.net, or call 202-340-0488.
