“Well-being is a critically important new focus area for HR and business in general.”

-- Josh Bersin, Principal and Founder, Bersin by Deloitte

Wellness initiatives have popped up in organizations over the past decade. Lately, organizations are adopting a more comprehensive model of wellbeing. This is not just a feel-good fad. Most fortune 500 companies recognize employee well-being is a differentiator and a bottom-line business imperative. While businesses are developing well-being initiatives, leaders are often left out of the equation. As one Chief Medical Officer recently said, “We’ve been at this for two years and now realize that if we don’t include leaders in our initiatives, they will not have lasting effect.”

George Mason University’s Center for the Advancement of Well-Being (CWB) has been on the leading edge of well-being research and practice for over a decade. As a well-being university, it met its goal to positively impact the well-being of one million individuals one year ahead of schedule, and has developed its vision for “Well-Being 2.0.” Join Penny Potter and Sarah Happel, in a lively presentation and discussion of the business case for well-being in the workplace, and why leaders must learn to lead to well-being at the individual, team, and organizational levels. You will leave this session with:

● Business case for well-being

● Components of the Mason well-being model

● Distinctions of individual, team, and organizational well-being

● Tips and practices for leaders to lead to well-being

Presenters: Penny Potter, Ph.D., PCC ; Sarah Happel, M.S., PCC
