How to Measure Any Performance of Any Function at Any Level!

Mel Schnapper, Ph.D.

In almost all relationships, business and social, expectations about outcomes are ambiguous and in both contexts can lead to misunderstandings, arguments and even termination of the relationship, as in, no continuation of a contract with a client. This session will focus on creating standards of performance using precise and rigorous qualitative and quantitative metrics. Mel will have participants apply his “3Ms: Measure, Manage and Magnify” methodology to participants’ current and/or anticipated clients to show, in measureable terms what the client is paying for and how the value of the services can be increased without increasing the fee.

Mel has been measuring performance since his days training Peace Corps Volunteers and measuring linguistic fluency and most recently while at Oracle Corporation as Quality Manager, Global Project Management Service Line. He is the founder of the Project Management Institute (PMI) Metrics SIG and works internationally doing Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for the UNDP, USAID and other donor-sponsored projects. He has worked in both the US corporate sector and for over 20 governments in the areas of OD, training, Change Management, etc.  More about Mel at: www.schnapper.com  where you can also access an archived webinar on his 3Ms methodology and a brief description of his book: Value-Based Metrics for Improving Results.
