As we head into summer, come play with us in some virtual learning environments to try out immersive leadership development strategies, such as virtual role plays, Second Life, and Virtual Reality. You’ll view examples of leadership development programs developed in these environments, and you’ll participate in two simulations to practice skills in communicating up the chain and de-escalating conflict. And just to make sure we’re warmed up and ready to play, we’ll practice a little laughing yoga to get things started. Join us to explore exciting possibilities for developing leaders in virtual learning environments.

Our simulation guide for this event is Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Clayton whose educational and professional speciality is in the application of leadership in virtual environments. Clayton serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Leadership at Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, supporting the continuing development of mid-level officer leadership for the US Air Force. In this role, he develops immersive learning environments that focus on military and business leadership development using virtual, augmented, and mixed reality environments.

Lieutenant Colonel Clayton is a 1999 graduate of Purdue University and earned his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps.
