As we turn the calendar to 2022, let’s talk about what’s ahead for leaders in 2022 and beyond. And what can talent development professionals do to help prepare them for that future? Our panel of learning leaders from private, public, and non-profit sectors will discuss your predictions, as well as their own, and they’ll answer your questions about their strategies for leadership development in the year ahead. Presenters:

Brandon Guzzone, Chief Human Resources Officer, Population Services International; Dr. David Rude, Executive Director for Talent Management & Chief Learning Officer at Parallax Advanced Research; Jason Stanis, Chief Technology Officer of the Ignyte Group; Sharrón Dean, Senior Director Human Resources/Administration, Air Force Association.

Brandon Guzzone is the Chief Human Resources Officer for PSI (Population Services International), a non-profit global health organization based in Washington, DC. PSI operates in over 50 countries worldwide, with programs in sexual and reproductive health, malaria, water and sanitation, HIV, and non-communicable diseases. Mr. Guzzone is responsible for leading a talented and committed team that provides human capital guidance and advice to PSI’s more than 7,000 employees across the globe. Prior to joining PSI, Mr. Guzzone spent 20 years serving in numerous senior and executive positions in the Federal Government and in the private sector, including Chief Human Capital Officer for the Millennium Challenge Corporation, Chief Learning Officer for the Department of Energy, and Director of Management and Workforce Development for the Health Resources and Services Administration. Mr. Guzzone is a graduate of Georgetown University and the University of Maryland. He is a former member of the Senior Executive Service, a Project Management Professional (PMP), and a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute.

Dr. Dave Rude is the Executive Director for Talent Management and Chief Learning Officer for Parallax Advanced Research, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to Advancing the Science of Intelligent TeamingTM. A native of the Washington, DC area, Dave had a 40-year career in the Federal government (Departments of Defense, Energy, and Education). He has extensive experience in talent development, organizational leadership, adult learning, consulting, strategic human capital management, organizational development, financial management, and international relations.

He has been a Chief Learning Officer (CLO) for 13 years. 

  • From 2015 to August 2020: CLO for the United States National Nuclear Security Administration. 
  • From 2009 through 2015: CLO for the Department of Defense’s civilian workforce of approximately 850,000 employees 

He served in senior leadership roles such as a principal member of the Federal Government’s Chief Learning Officer Council and the Government-wide Talent Development Steering Committee.

Dave is co-founder of a start-up consulting firm, EI Org Consulting (www.eiorgconsulting.com), a woman and veteran-owned small business dedicated to creating healthy organizations through emotional intelligence.

Since 2014, Dave has served as adjunct faculty at the University of Louisville, George Mason University, and the George Washington University. Dave is a member of the George Mason University’s CLO advisory council and the upstart Fairfax University of America advisory council.

He has published several peer-reviewed articles in various journals, presented at scholar-practitioner conferences, and has facilitated courses and workshops on a wide variety of topics. 

Dave has a B.S. in Business Administration from George Mason University, a Master of Public Administration degree (with honors) from American University, and a Doctor of Education in Human and Organizational Learning (Executive Leadership Doctoral Program) from the George Washington University. His dissertation research was on developing emotional intelligence in Federal government leaders. 

He is a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) from the Association for Talent Development (ATD). He is a certified innovation practitioner (conferred by Idea Connection Systems), along with other certification in performance management and compensation. 

He has received several commendations, including the Secretary of Defense Exceptional Civilian Service Award and the 2020 Emotional Intelligence Training & Research Award for Excellence.

Jason Stanis is Ignyte’s CTO and leads its Digital Workflow and Automation practice. Jason brings over 20 years of management consulting experience helping his clients strategically improve their processes, architect solutions, and drive digital transformation. Jason has served a wide range of organizations across the public and private sector, including deep experience in the health care and transportation industries. Jason has a master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Michigan State University and is passionate about applying low-code technologies to improve the speed and effectiveness of technology implementation while reducing enterprise risk and total cost of ownership.

Sharrón Dean is the Senior Director Human Resources/Administration at the Air Force Association, a professional military and aerospace education association, dedicated to United States dominance in air, space, and cyberspace, a strong national defense, and support for the people who serve the United States Air Force and United States Space Force. Sharrón is an accomplished Human Capital Executive, Leadership Coach and educator with proven experience in human resource strategy, leadership development, executive coaching and equity and inclusion. She is a strategic HR advisor and collaborator, skilled in managing federal and state compliance, envisioning the current and future state of HR functions to identify gaps and areas for improvement. She has demonstrated proven success in leading cross-functional project teams, designing and facilitating learning programs and workshops. As an independent coach Sharrón’s concentration is professional development, managing performance, career transition, developing personal brands, executive and emerging leaders.
