With training budgets slashed and organizations struggling to do more with less, many employees as well as those responsible for their development are challenged to find ways to address employee development needs. Classroom and online training are popular and first-in-mind development methods but these can be costly and complex. In this highly interactive and dynamic session, you will explore other, non-training ways to develop yourself and/or your employees on a tight budget. You will consider the pros and cons of various non-training development methods, consider the requirements and specifications of three specific and unusual employee development ideas, and develop a strategy for implementing new employee development methods for you and/or your employees right away upon your return from the program.

Learning Objectives:

1. Identify and assess various employee development methods that can be applied outside the classroom and on a tight budget.

2. Analyze three specific examples of non-training employee development methods.

3. Develop a strategy for incorporating new development methods for yourself and/or your employees.
