Have you wondered how to strike out on your own to become an independent consultant? Are you uncertain about what it takes to develop a successful business? This session will discuss how independent consultants can achieve their dream of building their own business by Captivating their dream, Activating their goal, and Navigating their plan. They will learn 3 key steps and the most important items to focus on to become a successful independent consultant.

Objectives: At the end of this session, the participant will be able to:

  • Captivate the dream by defining the goal of their business
  • Activate their goal by creating milestones
  • Navigate their milestones by developing a strategic plan.

Joyce Wietrecki is a co-author of the book, "Overcoming Mediocrity: Unstoppable Women." She is a strategic Talent Management Professional in Organizational Leadership specializing in leadership development, team building and change management. Her consulting expertise has been in high demand from blue-chip companies like Walgreens, AbbVie, Reynolds Consumer Products, and Kraft Heinz Company. She is President of her own venture, Corporate Training Group, Inc., which combines her knowledge in talent management and executive coaching spanning more than 25 years.

Joyce has worked with leaders to improve their productivity and coached them to become exceptionally high performing leaders. Conducting surveys, administering 360-degree feedback tools, using assessments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator instrument, DiSC Profile, Thomas Kilmann Conflict Instrument, Gallup’s StrengthsFinder, and the Emotional Intelligence she helps people identify gaps, develop solutions, and create customized programs to build better teams and leaders. In addition, she is certified in the Modern Manager Series Group Coaching and Training program.

Joyce holds a B.A. in Adult Learning and M.A. in Organizational Leadership from DePaul University, Chicago, IL. She served as a Professional Advisor for the School for New Learning at DePaul University, served as President for the Association for Talent Development in Chicago, and served on the National Board of Leadership Development for ATD.
