This event aligns with the Personal, Professional and Organizational Application of ATD's Talent Development Capability Model.

Delegation is not just about ‘clearing your plate’ of unwanted tasks. Skilled leaders, at all levels, know that delegation is an important strategy in developing skills in others. Workshop attendees will learn about three modes of delegation and how to hold a delegation conversation that sets the stage for organization and personal success.

Why Attend?

Effective delegation builds skills in others and helps organizations reach important goals. Ineffective and poor delegation is also a sure way to discourage people and undermine the very success you are looking for. In this session you’ll learn valuable skills to apply generally, as well as to specific projects. We’ll share examples of successes and failures.

Skills Covered

  • Identify obstacles and benefits to delegation
  • Apply the appropriate mode of delegation based on the delegate’s skill level, the project and the situation
  • Design, implement, and communicate leadership development opportunities for staff at all levels of the organization
  • Identify specific projects and delegates for a specific upcoming project

Who should attend?

  • Formal leaders and supervisors
  • Informal leaders (team and project leaders)
  • Aspiring leaders
