This event aligns with the Personal, Professional and Organizational Application of ATD's Talent Development Capability Model.
In order to lead in any facet of the human capital hire-to-retire model, it is critical that you understand how to facilitate dialogue in a manner that centers belonging and listening to understand, while deemphasizing structured approaches. This is especially true in a day-and-age where people are demonstrating a consistent concern for not feeling- and/or being- heard. Human beings, now more than ever, demand engagement and interaction that is dynamic, fluid, and in-the-moment.
What is more, attention spans are decreasing as communication habits are changing. In all of this, being able to facilitate without relying on structures and rules is becoming critical, even outside of formal facilitation spaces and roles. In 'Human-Centered Facilitation', Vince will be introducing the 8 tenets, the 9 hats, and the 3 levels of listening--all of which encompass his award winning and INIFAC certified approaches to culture and diversity-to-belonging facilitation. This content and dialogue will benefit participants by introducing human-centered approaches and de-centering traditional, linear models and approaches.
Vince will present this information in a way that is engaging, inclusive, and conversational - this as opposed to slide-heavy. After all, as a true facilitator, he is a guide on the side, not a sage on the stage.
Presenter: Vince Brantley
Vince is a Certified Master Facilitator who is one of only two people in the world who is certified to certify Culture Facilitators and Diversity-to-Belonging Facilitators. He reached this capability after having demonstrated a unique ability to facilitate human-centered dialogue without traditionally structured approaches (ground rules, agendas, etc.). And, over the past 5 years, he has been one of two facilitators called in to facilitate in the aftermath of the Charlottesville Race Riots, the murder of George Floyd, the January 6th events, and the SCOTUS decisions on Roe v Wade and Affirmative Action. Over the past 9 years, he has trained and coached 1,200 people in the areas of culture and DEI facilitation.
