Power is an essential part of our personal and organizational lives.  Just like our personal use of power is expanding with solar, thermal or other new source, we also need to re-examine power within organizations.

In today’s organizations, the concept of power is often treated as something to shun or ignore. One recent study found that less than a third (29%) of respondents thought their organizations teach their leaders how to effectively leverage their full power (Bal et al., 2008 for Center for Creative Leadership).  Yet, power is at the very root of leadership and an organization’s culture.  Only the effective use of power can a create high-performance organizations.

In fact, power is the ability to act and influence and it is the essence of leadership. It is no surprise that we yearn to see power used wisely and, when it is, we celebrate it as engagement, talent development, and high trust.

PLEASE NOTE: The venue for this dinner is Courtyard by Marriot - Tyson's Corner.
