No matter how well you design and deliver learning within your organization, you are probably experiencing increased demands to demonstrate how your learning programs impact business results. Unfortunately many Workplace Learning and Performance (WLP) professionals struggle with this because they are simply uninformed in the art and science of evaluation design. This in-depth, highly interactive all-day workshop provides practical tips and specific techniques for creating valid, scientifically sound Level 1, 2, 3, and 4 evaluations that produce data with high perceived value. These tips and techniques are based on current education and behavioral science research findings in survey design methodology.

Objectives for this Workshop:

  • Examine the Kirkpatrick/Phillips 5 Level evaluation model and methods for collecting data at each level
  • Create valid, scientifically sound Level 1, 2, 3, and 4 evaluations in order to build a “chain of evidence” demonstrating program value
  • Evaluate when and how to use four basic research design methods and their relationship to the two evaluation issues of providing “credible results” and isolating program effects
  • Use basic statistical techniques to aggregate data collected from administering Level 1, 2, and 3 evaluations, draw conclusions from the results and make recommendations

    
About The Facilitator:

Ken Phillips is founder and CEO of Phillips Associates, a consulting and publishing company with expertise in performance management, measurement and evaluation of learning, and sales performance. He has more than 25 years experience designing learning instruments and assessments and has authored more than a dozen published learning instruments. He regularly speaks to American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) groups and university classes. Since 2008, he has spoken at the ASTD International Conference on topics related to measurement and evaluation of learning.
