What are the secrets of an engaging presentation? Is it content? Is it delivery style? Is it preparation? In this workshop, we will explore what it takes to effectively get your message across to any audience, large or small, while covering presentation techniques and strategies to help you be more audience-focused, manage presentation nerves and use PowerPoint better. Specific topics will include: uncovering and understanding audience needs; harnessing presentation anxiety; powerful openings and closings; using stories for impact; what should and shouldn’t go on a slide; integrating PowerPoint slides with verbal delivery; and when and how to handle questions. Participants will explore presentation best practices through a variety of interactive exercises and video examples.

At the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Define the elements of an effective presentation.
  • Create an action plan for increasing audience focus.
  • Use less PowerPoint.
  • Critique a presentation using best practices criteria.
