Coaching SIG: The Power of Presence - Practical Approaches for Coaches

  • 07 May 2013
  • 6:40 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Bethesda Regional Library, 7400 Arlington Rd. Bethesda, MD 20814

The Coaching SIG is Sponsored by the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) & Chesapeake Bay Organization Development Network (CBODN)

Topic: The Power of Presence - Practical Approaches for Coaches

Leadership presence is a common area for coaches to explore with clients, and yet it can be hard to bring the concepts down to a repeatable, practical level. How can a manager lead with presence day in and day out? What “presence” skills are most valuable in the workplace? Join us as Kristi Hedges demystifies the elusive trait of presence and demonstrates how it is the intersection of outward influencing skills and internal mental conditioning. Kristi will discuss her I-Presence™ model, which is designed to show how anyone undefined regardless of position or personality undefined can strengthen their impact. Coaches will be introduced to accessible tools for their own coaching toolkits.

Who Can Attend?

You do not need to be a coach to attend our meetings or be on our mailing list. Our attendance is comprised of many coaches - some new and some seasoned. We have people attending who want to learn about the different coaching programs, some currently in coaching programs, and those who are starting or just finishing programs or certification. We also have trainers, and consultants, or others in different fields who are curious about coaching or becoming a coach, along with some who teach in coaching programs. We have members coming from a range of fields including IT, law, economics, health care, advertising, communications, banking, and international organizations. We enjoy the mix of perspectives, ages, and world experience.
