In his book, Mission-Based Management: Leading Your Not-for-Profit In the 21st Century, Peter Brinckerhoff establishes a set of business-based principles for effective leadership in a non-profit organization. Local non-profit leader, Betty Dean has applied many of these principles to engage employees and convince constituents for her organization, Didlake, a provider of contract services and rehabilitative services that “create opportunities that enrich the lives of people with disabilities.” In this session, she will share her experiences in applying mission-based management to achieve exceptional results at Didlake. She will then lead a discussion to help you discover how these principles can foster success in any organization.
Betty Dean is a member of Didlake’s executive management team and oversees the organization’s external and internal communications, community outreach and development programs. She joined Didlake in 2002 after a 20 year career in financial services marketing and communications.
