How can you get employees up to speed and able to effectively perform new job responsibilities most efficiently, when the time and money available for training has been reduced? What if there was a tool available to provide all of the development tools, work processes, and associated competencies of a key position in one a place, and give candidates a chance to journal their development objectives and key learnings throughout the first year on the job?

Jim O'Hern, former Director of Learning and Development for the Marketing and Refining business at Hess Corporation, and Hal Christensen, Partner at Christensen/Roberts Solutions partnered to build and pilot a Performance Support prototype to implement in one of their client’s businesses.  Hal and Jim envisioned a three-step approach; Move much of the up-front process training into an on-going mentoring program, enabling seasoned professionals to share their wisdom with newer colleagues, Aggregate existing functional learning and reference materials and make them instantly accessible in the workplace at the moment of need; and Foster self-development, by enabling new associates to record their own experiences and reflect on their progress towards their goals.

During this webinar event, Jim and Hal will review this Performance Support solution and give a live demonstration of the program that was developed.

Participants in this session will learn:
1. How costs and duration of training programs can be significantly reduced--and the results enhanced--by moving learning into the workplace.
2. How a successful mentoring system can be facilitated with an integrated Performance Support solution.
3. How existing Development Planning (IDPs), learning and reference materials can be re-purposed--with greater effectiveness--within the workplace.
4. The power of enabling individual self-development and how that can be implemented with today's technology, as part of a multi-faceted Performance Support solution.
5. Three key steps for converting up-front courses to sustained competence in the field.
