Coaching SIG: Authentic Use of "Who"?

  • 06 May 2014
  • 5:40 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Location: Bethesda Regional Library, 7400 Arlington Rd. Bethesda, MD 20814.

The Coaching CoP is Sponsored by the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) & Chesapeake Bay Organization Development Network (CBODN)

Topic: Authentic Use of "Who"?

Join us for the May SIG meeting and participate in a conversation of discovery with your fellow coaches: "What does it mean to 'use' ourselves?" and "How can we 'use' ourselves to best serve those we coach?" We will be exploring what we believe and then learning from one another in the process. Our facilitator, David Grau, will guide the conversation as we all become co-
learners through a process of self-reflection and group exploration. This May meeting will be our last one before our summer recess so plan to join your colleagues to 'dance in the moment' of self discovery.

Presenter: David Grau

David Grau is an organization development consultant and executive coach specializing in leadership development and change management. His unique background includes a 25-year career as a commissioned officer with the U.S. Public Health Service and he was the Director of Training at the Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). He received a dental degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and a Masters in Educational Technology from San Diego State University. David also completed the Georgetown Organization Development and Leadership Coaching certificate programs. He has worked with multiple Federal government organizations, non-profits, and corporate clients.

Who Can Attend?

You do not need to be a coach to attend our meetings or be on our mailing list. Our attendance is comprised of many coaches - some new and some seasoned. We have people attending who want to learn about the different coaching programs, some currently in coaching programs, and those who are starting or just finishing programs or certification. We also have trainers, and consultants, or others in different fields who are curious about coaching or becoming a coach, along with some who teach in coaching programs. We have members coming from a range of fields including IT, law, economics, health care, advertising, communications, banking, and international organizations. We enjoy the mix of perspectives, ages, and world experience.
