The ATD Metro DC Chapter is proud to participate in the ATD Mid-Atlantic Regional Webinar Series. This monthly webinar series is offered by the ATD Mid-Atlantic Chapters – Regional Programs Consortium which is comprised of the following eleven ATD chapters:

We've all experienced meetings and conversations that lose momentum—a discussion goes in circles, participation is low, one voice dominates, or the group leaves without clear direction. When this happens, productivity suffers, trust can erode, and valuable opportunities are missed.

What if work conversations could consistently be engaging, focused, and action-oriented?

In this interactive workshop, Kashay Sanders introduces The Conversation Clinic, a practical framework designed to help learning professionals, facilitators, managers, and team leaders design and lead more effective workplace conversations. Developed from years of facilitation experience and participant feedback, this model provides a repeatable approach for creating conversations that inspire action and produce better outcomes.

Participants will:

Learn the Conversation Clinic framework.
Practice applying the model through realistic workplace scenarios.
Collaborate on live coaching cases submitted by fellow attendees, using the framework to strengthen upcoming meetings or analyze challenging conversations from the past.

Whether you facilitate workshops, lead meetings, coach teams, or manage projects, you'll leave with practical tools you can apply immediately.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

Apply the Conversation Clinic framework to design more purposeful workplace conversations.
Identify common pitfalls that derail meetings and discussions.
Practice using structured facilitation techniques to improve engagement and participation.

About the Presenter

Kashay Sanders believes deeply in the transformative power of meaningful conversations. She began developing her facilitation skills as a college student, leading dialogue-centered programs designed to foster understanding across differences. Over the past 14 years, she has refined those skills in diverse settings—from a girls' empowerment social enterprise in India to a Fortune 100 organization.

Drawing on this broad experience, Kashay has developed a practical framework for creating conversations that are engaging, productive, and impactful. Her mission is to help individuals and organizations elevate the quality of their workplace discussions and meetings.

Kashay holds a B.A. in Women's & Gender Studies from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.

Coffee & Networking is a lightly facilitated, in-person gathering designed to help talent development professionals connect with intention. Participants will use name tags that highlight roles, interests, or current focus areas, making it easier to spot common ground and start meaningful conversations.

We’ll kick things off with a short conversation prompt aligned to the chapter’s strategic priorities, then open the room for organic networking across roles, industries, and career stages. You’ll leave with new perspectives, fresh ideas, and connections that extend beyond the coffee cup.
